Marquita Watson:

"The HIPPY program has had a wonderful impact on our family. It has given us creative and fun ways to teach our daughter many different things.

We sit down five times a week and do her lessons. This creates quality family time together where we can bond. It also helps create memories that she will remember as she grows up. Madison really enjoys and looks forward to her lessons. She asks every night, "Mom is it time to do my homework?" We feel it is such a blessing that our community is able to offer this service. Madison's knowledge base and motor skills are really expanding.

The program is helping us to help her get ready for school. The schedule we receive each week also helps us to stay on track, and keeps us committed to the program.

This program has a wonderful impact on families because it brings them together for a fun filled lesson."

Tamiko Reed:

"My name is Tamiko Reed. I would like to tell you how HIPPY inspired me. A home based educator came to my home in 1992 and explained the program to me. After listening to her, I decided to enroll my son in the program. I enjoyed her coming out and bringing me the materials.

Most of all, I enjoyed the books and being able to work with my child at home. I loved the program so much that my other two children were also in it.

I enjoyed it so that in 1998, I started as a substitute for HIPPY and at this time I am working full time for the Helena-West Helena HIPPY program. I'm also attending Phillips County Community College, working towards my CDA credential and my AA degree."

Kristi Sorrentino:

"HIPPY has really made a big change in both my son and myself. It gives us a chance to teach each other. I've taught my son shapes, colors and how to sit down and take time to want to learn. I've learned how to take the time and have the patience in working with him, because he makes it so fun for both of us.

HIPPY has taught me how to make it fun for him. I think HIPPY is a great program because it prepares the child for school and shows the parents how to teach them things to where they want to learn. It is a great program. I hope everyone has the experience my son and I have shared."
