Helping States Prepare Home Visiting Plans

HIPPY USA has been designated by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services as an evidenced-based model that achieves measurable and desired outcomes through its home visiting approach.
As a result, HIPPY is ready to collaborate with states to prepare and implement home visiting plans under the federal Maternal, Infant and Early Childhood Home Visiting Programs.
What makes HIPPY an excellent, unique fit for state home visiting plans?
HIPPY is a parent involvement, school readiness program. HIPPY helps parents prepare their children ages 3 to 5 for success in school and beyond. Through home visits and group meetings, HIPPY provides parents with a highly structured curriculum, storybooks, and materials designed to build their children's early literacy skills, and strengthen their cognitive, social, and physical development.
HIPPY works with at-risk communities. Our model uses well-trained home visitors who are from the target communities of the program. These home visitors speak the same language as the family being served and are sensitive to the demographics, culture and issues -- such as low income, low academic achievement, and teen parenting challenges --facing the families in the program.
HIPPY can measure and analyze results. We are firmly based in research and testing – and our robust, easy-to-use information management system, Efforts to Outcomes (ETO), helps track results and report them in a timely fashion.
HIPPY has a long history of collaboration and partnership. HIPPY's model for three to five year olds can easily transition families from zero to three programs into early school success. HIPPY USA annually serves more than 16,000 children in 22 states and the District of Columbia, almost always in partnership with state programs, school districts and other social services organizations.
HIPPY programs can be launched quickly. Where programs do not yet exist, our model enables HIPPY to introduce a program to a community in as little as a few months.
