Child Trends Features HIPPY for Caregivers in Brief
HIPPY for Caregivers, our latest curriculum, still in pilot phase, is featured in collection of briefs by Child Trends that highlight home-based child caregivers and home visiting.
In 2016, HIPPY USA began developing this curriculum for home-based child care providers to improve educational opportunities for children, by using its home visiting model to deliver books, curriculum, and coaching to providers working with children ages 2 to 5.
HIPPY is retaining the parent-child feature of the model by also providing additional books and learning materials for parents to use with their children. In addition, HIPPY for Caregivers provides resources to parents through group meetings and materials that support home- based child care providers to have critical conversations with parents about their children’s growth and development.
The article in Child Trend's elaborates on the HIPPY model as well as other models. Child Trends is nation’s leading research organization focused exclusively on improving the lives of children and youth, especially those who are most vulnerable.
