Designed for HIPPY staff to gain more knowledge about the HIPPY model, curriculum and the essence of HIPPY, this is a required training for new coordinators, assistant coordinators and supervisors looking to fulfill Accreditation Standard 7.
Rachel Tillman, a HIPPY alum who went from Grady, Arkansas to the University of North Carolina to Mercer Law School, called us to get a copy of her favorite HIPPY book. Cindy Estrada brought tears to our eyes at the 2012 Avima D. Lombard Award Dinner, thanking her mother for working with her in the HIPPY program. Erika McMahan, who is an assistant principal in a very impoverished Arkansas community, credits HIPPY with her passion for education.
Such stories of successful young people whose potential HIPPY helped develop at an early age inspires and motivates the work of HIPPY USA. Many more stories are being told across the United States of how HIPPY has transformed the lives of children and families.
We're CLOSING THE EARLY LEARNING ACHIEVEMENT GAP by engaging parents early in their children's learning. HIPPY families receive books, activity packets, supplies and training - at no cost to the parents - to ensure their children start school ready to learn. Parents spend one-on-one time with their children reading and learning together. HIPPY children start kindergarten ready to read, ready to learn and ready to succeed!
Now serving 15,000 families across the country, we're issuing a call to action at the national level to provide the leadership and resources to reach thousands more children and families across the nation who are ready and waiting to participate in HIPPY.
To expand our capacity to serve more families and to ensure the continuous excellence of our program, our National Board of Trustees recently launched Campaign for School Readiness - a critical fundraising effort to help sustain and expand existing programs and initiate new programs in areas across the country where the need is great.
Your donation to Campaign for School Readiness will support growth initiatives such as:
But, we can only do this with your personal participation.
Simply put, your gift in support of Campaign for School Readiness will give children from families with limited resources the opportunity for a better education and a better life.
Join us! And, together, we can make sure all children have the opportunity to enter Kindergarten ready to learn, putting them on the path for success in school and beyond.
